At TMS of Knoxville, we’re proud to be the first clinic in Knoxville and East Tennessee to introduce Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy for treatment-resistant depression. Our commitment to innovation and excellence in mental health care sets us apart in the region. With over 11 years of experience and 328 patients treated , we have a response rate of 76.2% and a remission rate of 57.2%.
Led by Dr. Lane M. Cook, the most experienced psychiatrist in TMS therapy in East Tennessee and TMS Coordinator and chief tech Terry Chumley, our team boasts superior technical skills in administering treatments. We prioritize patient comfort and efficacy, ensuring a pain-free experience often compromised by poorly trained technicians elsewhere. As long-standing members of the Clinical TMS Society and a former member of its Insurance Committee, we stay at the forefront of TMS advancements.
We also provide medication management services with Regan Christenson, APRN, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through Sutherland Psychiatry, PLLC in our offices.
Our dedication to advancing mental health treatment extends beyond our clinic walls. We’ve provided numerous lectures to mental health professionals on TMS and regularly exhibit at the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee’s annual Fall Psychiatric Symposium. Dr. Cook serves as the medical director for this conference and will be speaking on psychopharmacology at the 2024 event.
We go above and beyond insurance coverage, offering free additional treatments to late responders in TMS to help them achieve remission. Our patient-first approach means we’re willing to explore experimental protocols, including right-sided stimulation, theta burst, and bright light therapy. We’re also the first in East Tennessee to utilize MagVenture’s FDA-cleared protocol for localized pain and neuropathy.
Understanding that mental health treatment is multifaceted, we’ve introduced Internet-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a free supplement to our TMS patients. This comprehensive program includes modules for various anxiety disorders, depression, insomnia, and mindfulness training. This can help augment our patients currently in psychotherapy as well as those who do not currently see a therapist.
For patients who do not have a psychiatric provider, we have an excellent Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Regan Christenson who is taking new medication maintenance patients.
At TMS of Knoxville, we’re not just treating depression; we’re revolutionizing mental health care in East Tennessee. Join us in exploring the cutting-edge of depression treatment and reclaim your life. If you are needing psychiatric medication management, our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Regan Christenson is taking new patients.
